The marilyn monroe
America is the land of the free, meaning that everyone has the right to do anything she wants or needs to do. It is also the land of opportunities, opportunities that can completely change someone's life. Marilyn Monroe was a poor, abused child that grew up into a huge success because of her ambition, determination, and opportunities. She had the right to take singing and acting classes. She had the right to pose in front of a camera for money. Responsibility is always hand in hand with everyone's rights. Every individual is responsible for his or her actions. Once Marilyn became a huge success, she was responsible for her fans; however, she did not feel the need to change who she really was for media, and that takes courage. Especially in today’s world, people have always gone with the status quo. Marilyn Monroe was known for being different and taking risks, which made her a substantial addition to history. No, she was not perfect, nobody is. Yes, she made some poor decisions in her life, but everyone does. Marilyn Monroe may have seemed like a surreal character that had no faults, moments of breakdown, or insecurities, but she was just like everyone else, if not a little more broken. She is such an inspiration because she was far from perfect, but still managed to succeed. She accomplished much more than just a few movies and magazine covers, she gave people hope. People who look up to her do not look up to her because she drank, posed nude, or had more than one marriage, they look up to her because of her ability to start from absolutely nothing and end with everything. They admire her confidence and insecurities, her strength and her weaknesses, her loves and her hates, and most of all, the change and movement that she created.
